As we approach our 5th anniversary its a great time to sit and think for a minute… I sat around on my own yesterday after our Flowers Revisited rehearsals and thought for a bit…
What a lucky bastard I am to be doing this – jumping into projects from 35 (Extremities) and 45 (Flowers) years ago! I do not take this lightly – especially with my difficulties after my spine and hip operations over the last few years. I don’t want to sound like a hallmark card or a new fizzy drink – attesting to the bold power of music – but fucking hell – it IS amazing! Not always; of course sometimes it’s the opposite, or it’s amazing when you’re shit (which works to pull you up), or its shit when you’re amazing and you can insert your energy into helping it survive, or any combination in between – ya know?
I’ve also been hyper-local (apart from my work down in Decatur), and LOVING Bridgeport and all of our neighbours in this amazing community. It almost feels like some of the promise of the internet was a massive hoax and all the good stuff is actually just 40 houses to the left or right all along.
