NiN Events Sell Out & More Added – Now w/ Ramen

Thank you for the amazing response to our free NIN Day at PPIM!!

I’ve seen all of the hysteria online surrounding NiN tickets, and see the arguments for supply and demand, free markets etc. etc… and actually don’t agree with all of it. YES, these tours cost a lot lot lot of money. If there’s something I know through Pigface, it is the insane circus juxtaposition of art and commerce and the brutal environment of the music business. If you don’t sell tickets, you don’t get paid – it’s really simple and unforgiving – but, what this doesn’t allow for is the fans who supported the band (any band) in those critical early days where the crowds were small and the band was on or off depending on circumstances as they found their feet musically, socially, stage craft etc. It is sometimes the longest supporters that are, for one reason or another, the most depleted in terms of finances (kids, health, jobs whatever) and the most in need of a jolt: A reminder of the energy, love, trust and ‘adrenalized’ excitement of the early days, watching a band rise from total obscurity to where they are now shows us that anything is possible. Some people need that jolt right now more than ever. So, we decided to make this a free day. I HAVE to say also — hey man! We have to fund this, too, somehow, so if you didn’t buy tickets to NiN and you want to donate or buy a shirt in the gift shop that, would be amazing! But nonetheless, it’s not required.

At the Free NiN Day, you’ll get to :

• Watch the Year Zero documentary, and look at one of the very limited ammo cases with contents!

• Sit behind Martin’s HLAH / Wish drum kit from Head Like A Hole (and Ministry, Kiling Joke, and Pigface!) for an photo op

• Listen to EARLY NiN demos (given to Martin by Trent at a party after playing sax with Martin’s post-punk outfit Brian Brain !)

• Mix Trent singing ‘Suck’ with Pigface down in the studio and leave with the cassette (that’s PUNKAF!) **only 4 Producer Experiences per tour group available

• Examine an amazing, magical array of items H Gun, Exit, and from such bands as Killing Joke, Einsturzendeneubauten, Ministry, Pigface, Skinny Puppy, Genesis P Orridge, Public Image Limited, KMFDM, Pig, Chris Connelly, Wax Trax ! Records, and it’s free!!

Just trying to help anyone battling the disappointment of not being able to go, or someone fortunate enough to get tickets but now very much depleted financially. Let’s celebrate that we are all here on this planet and can share the excitement that the community is feeling! Also…..I’ll be handing out free ramen!

Meanwhile, in amongst all of the excitement we were named the #2 runner up in the Chicago Reader Best Museum in Chicago poll, just behind the giants: The Art Institute and The Museum Of Science And Industry! THANK YOU! How completely amazing and humbling to be top three two years in a row, as we head towards our 4th year!!
