Reverb Store Updates & More

A few months ago I made the difficult decision to place my 1/4″ tape machine on the Reverb website. It was previously owned by Steve Albini at his home studio on Francisco Street here in Chicago. We’re bootstrapping this whole thing and needed some room to move and keep things moving – I rationalized that I wouldn’t sell that machine for money but I would to double the size of the Museum. The whole exercise was painful in my head and heart, but I figured that these important things we are doing should be painful? Or, at least expressed differently, I have no reason to believe anything this important should be accomplished without sleepless nights, exhaustion, on occasion some (physical and emotional), and some sacrifice. And this would fall into that category.

So, the price has been reduced one last time to pull it below the $20,000 price point and I am holding my breath – of course that amount of money would be helpful, but I can feel I am almost at a point where I can welcome my baby back. If it doesn’t sell in the next couple of weeks I will put it back in the studio and start to re-analog-ize the room and start recording drums to tape again.

There is a lot of super cool interesting stuff going on – Museum (mis)Guided Tours with me this weekend look for announcements soon!

WEEKEND EVENTS + BEYOND

This weekend, there are some tickets available for (mis)Guided Tours with Martin, Saturday and Sunday. Later this month, Martin will be hopping online to celebrate and talk about the recording of PiL’s Paris au Printemps over the 46th anniversary! January 24th marks the 3st anniversary of Swans The Great Annihilator – which Martin has many items, stories, and background to share!

If you’re bummed you missed the screen printing workshop this past Tuesday, have no fear – we’re having another one in February over Valentine’s weekend!
