WE’RE #2!

TOP 3 – 3 YEARS IN A ROW!

It’s so wild to find out that we are the #2 museum in Chicago, by the Chicago Reader‘s Best of Chicago 2025 poll published today! I think, you know, you could say that these competitions, lists, “top of this,” and “top of that,” are kind of meaningless in the world right now… but honestly, this has been really fueling for us today, to find out that we are placed in the top 3, three years in a row.

Anyone can do this once, right? Two years in a row is pretty wild. Three years in a row? I think we have to take a step back, and go, “Hold on a minute – there’s something fucking going on here!” Obviously, it’s a sustained, cool thing!

So a big THANK YOU to everyone that has believed in this – sometimes, perhaps, more than I believed in it. I pushed this idea out almost 5 years ago. Sometimes I feel like now, this museum and everyone’s energy are dragging me along behind! It’s been such a wonderful experience  – so many founders, so many people have helped donating objects, stories, and time – just a kind word or stopping by for a visit.

The collection keeps growing, the neighborhood keeps growing, and how wonderful that our 3 positions in this poll have been #1, #3, and now #2 – when rearranged, they become 312 – the area code for Chicago – how awesome is that? I love this city, I chose to be here, and I really want to thank everybody who has visited and voted for us. This is a really special thing that kind of keeps us going.
