Museum Friday: New Discoveries Every Day!
I have wondered a few times (and maybe you have too) about WHY I would hold on to the Murder Inc backdrop for over 30 years – before then cutting it up and distributing it inside of the double album vinyl reissue. Honestly, it doesn’t feel strange to me – (is that strange?). But wait – it’s about to get deeper and my appearance on Hoarders seems imminent.
I was looking at some Murder Inc files yesterday and opened up an envelope – and saw the receipt for the canvas we used for the backdrop, with an order for grommets, and then a receipt for the black paint and something from the long gone, now coffee shop in Pilsen, V&G hardware.
Rather than worry over this behavior, I’m choosing to take it as confirmation from the universe that I am indeed supposed to be running this museum!
I’m LOVING the Museum tours right now as my connections to the city of Chicago and industrial music develop further, and my knowledge of all of this incrementally grows! There are some tickets left for this weekends tours – and a handful for tonight – our first Friday night (mis)Guided Tour! BYOB (but the fridge is always full! Come hang !

PPIM EVENTS: AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER
There are events live for August and September at PPIM. There are plenty of opportunities to still visit this month, and a BUSY upcoming September with Cold Waves, Riot Fest, PIG, Chant, and more!
Here’s what some people are saying:
An incredible documentation, of some of the most important items from a rarely preserved era. (Brian Dickie)
An industrial music dream (Elizabeth Vodevic)
This should be on your bucket list. (Ryan Cardenas)
A secret stash of music history and memorabilia more-than-worthy of the Smithsonian. (Julie Niehoff)
Continues the punk ethos even in a museum setting – allowing guests to actually touch and interact with the objects. (Gisselle S Tipp)
The Post Punk Louvre! (Nick Zinner)
Unlike any museum I’ve visited. I can’t wait to come back. (Greg Lunsford)
I was there for 3 hrs and still not enough time to SEE IT ALL. (Brigette Golson)
5 stars, two thumbs up, 100% loved it. (Robert Carter)
