MUSEUM MONDAY:
Fundraising Auctions Live
I think we’ve only conducted one or two (?) other auctions this year, so this one feels special! We’ve really taken some time to find some great items for you to bid on to support the Museum. We’ve added in a chance to bid on an overnight stay in the Museum apartment (people LOVE it with 25 5 star reviews so far!), some terrific very hard to find vinyl from some used PiL albums (I signed them), and some new vinyl from the increasing Museum vinyl reissues: a splatter Albini demos and Genesis P Orridge, too, with a glow in the dark variant cover. People have started to donate items specifically for auction to help us too – thank you!
One of my favorite things to add in to these auctions is a Custom Drum Track from me – for so many reasons – anyone can have me play on their track – whether it’s for a major label release or a cassette to share with your friends – that feels cool to me. In the past, I’ve called it ‘the democratization of beats’ which sounds pretty cool – but really, I LIKE the idea that I am using my skills and sometimes getting my hands blistered and bloody in order to keep the Museum funded, up and running. Yeah!!
I think we are getting better at what we do as the Museum grows and focuses, too. The new Wax Trax inspired store area really magnetized pieces from all over the collection into one place and that felt really good. I didn’t realize how many deeply connected pieces we had until it all came together. The second My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult area gave some room for all of the items in the collection to breathe a little, too. I’m looking forward to doing the same with our KMFDM collection and other areas too.
LOOK out for big (BIG!) announcements soon!
Come visit the Museum and our amazing community here in Bridgeport, Chicago, bid on some items and keep being awesome!
Much love and thanks!
