Great Things Happening
What a week of visits from all over the world! It seems that more and more people are making the journey here, specially to visit the museum – one guest even brought some chocolate covered gummy bears this weekend! There’s always been lots of ‘add-ons’ and thats cool AF – here for a Home Depot shelving convention, Battle Star Galactica re-boot celebration, a visit to Sox Park, family or a concert at Salt Shed or United Center – but it’s certainly feeling like a shift in more people being aware and excited. That’s amazing – thank you!
The auction was a great success, so we will be packing things up to ship tomorrow and arranging for the much delayed drum tracking at last! I need to be behind the kit every day til November so I can to get ready to laugh at the intensity of the Extremities gig – NOT sit there crying and puking!
The Founders Meet Founders events are a real revelation. It’s great to hear why (why?!?) people decided to jump into supporting this community and humbling to hear the role this music, and now the museum, have played in people’s lives. THANKYOU!! The Skinny Puppy Day was emotional for me this weekend. I found my Process production diary, which at times was harrowing but put me back into the Shangri La house (never easy). More on this day and the next one soon when I have processed it all and, Blue Print For Chaos moved along to version 3.0, lots of info and food for thought (also more on that soon).
Lastly, I’m looking for any ways I can to make a difference for people in the face of so much shit in many of our lives………my mum, I’m sure, would offer to make a sandwich and I’m happy to do that, or a donut, or a cappuccino if you are around. If not, I’m happy to keep the free shirt Friday going all week this week – we’re crazy busy so be patient — but if a nice clean free(almost) shirt would give you or a friend a lift right now, then please go ahead and grab one from the store.
