Museum Monday: Reflections from a Great Weekend

Sometimes, even when I’m in the middle of turning on the 15 TVs, getting ready for a last minute founder visit this AM, I can’t believe how much I love this place and how it keeps giving to me:

A few weeks ago a guy dropped off his Pigface Alley leather from 1992/93….. The arm is signed by everyone involved with Pigface at that time, and there’s Paul Raven’s artwork on the back; cool and definitely needing a revolving base so everyone can see all of it. Then, this past Friday, I put my hand in a bag to get a Revolting Cocks CD for a display and saw a Pigface flyer. I mean – there’s so many Pigface logos on things around here it wasn’t anything special until I read the flyer -for a leather jacket give-away……at The Alley – THIS leather jacket!! I swear, you put something on a wall here and related items slide across the room to assemble themselves into a curated exhibit – it’s magic and so relevant in this moment! I also get to see the NIN Year Zero “art is resistance – YOU have a voice” everyday, and look at the killing joke lyrics from Greed, which could’ve been written yesterday!

PiL 45TH US TOUR ANNIVERSARY

Sunday, April 20, virtual and in-person event are available as we approach the 45th anniversary of PiL’s first time in the US, and Martin’s introduction to the states! At 11am CT on Sunday April 20, Martin will be online from the center of the Museum of Post Punk and Industrial Music, sharing stories and memories, and stringing along what was the first US tour, eventually ending at American Bandstand. Following that session, Martin will be hanging out at the Museum for an open house with focused stories and listening sessions down in the studio!
