Museum Monday Updates
At Some Point…
I’ll throw up a bunch of the amazing reviews of the Museum. I’m really proud that we have created something that resonates so much with so many for whom these genres have been important. Leyla Royale, who plays cello with Pigface amongst many other things, stopped by a couple weeks ago and mentioned an experience that I wanted to highlight:
“There is so much cool memorabilia and Martin has the best stories,” that’s not the part – this is: “It’s also a great place to get inspired and reflect back on finding new ways to create art and just make stuff happen, however you can.”
I LOVED seeing that. That’s one of the real purposes of museum stuff, isn’t it? That’s how it is for me sometimes – like, if you see ten things that came to fruition and made a difference – (perhaps a couple that were precarious for one reason or another), then you are kind of reinforced/encouraged/required to make the 11th…it’s an accumulation and a reminder to surround ourselves with inspiration.
It’s not always easy to be over there. Saturday I played the Killing Joke demos that Geordie Walker and I made at Steve Albini’s 8 track studio at his house on Francisco Street. As I sat there, I realized I am the only surviving person of the three of us. That stopped me for a minute then made me want to do this more. Damn, Geordie’s distorted bass on Money (not to mention the guitars!) was stunning!
Lots of events are coming up with lots of different people – come visit – it’s magic.
