Museum Monday: Weekend Updates + More

As much as all of the remotes can be a pain, the museum is such a wonderful place – I can’t help but smile and love it. This weekend was spectacular with visitors from all over the world bathing in it all. One visitor said, “this woke up a forgotten part of me!” Another is going to bring their dad, who had introduced them to Skinny Puppy in Croatia!

After the second tour on Sunday, I got to play my drums for a half hour – some of those Extremities beats, maaaaaan – just about enough for these arms at the moment – and feel very very lucky. Thank you all for helping and supporting this crazy bonkers thing.

Lots of stuff …….20% off Vinyl with code VINYL20, GA tickets for the Extremities event in November, and Jason Pettigrew visiting Sunday May 4th. I’m guiding my students through Midwest Music Expo #8 on Sat May 3rd at Millikin University, too – 29 artists across two stages, some great speakers (A D Carson, Odell Mitchell lll, Dr. Katie Leo and more) and vendor booths too – fingers crossed for good weather!

More later this week !

EVENTS AT PPIM

As we’re officially nearing summer, the Museum already has a bunch of exciting events happening! Early in May, we’re welcoming Jason Pettigrew! Jason will be sharing snippets from his newly released book, Ministry’s The Land of Rape and Honey: the definitive chronicle of Ministry’s 1988 industrial rock release that details the zeitgeist where post-punk, metal, funk and straight-up noise converge. Signed copies will be available for purchase at the event!

If you’re in town for Ministry the following weekend, we’ll have some Ministry-focused guided tours May 9 – 11th, too!
