Being so fucking old and a member of such iconic bands at their arguable height, founding Invisible Records with over 300 releases and my band Pigface, with over 500 members, feels like an unfair advantage in setting up this museum. So many pieces, items, ephemera, set lists, lyrics, passes, receipts, songs, videos, shirts, posters, pics, art, fashion, demos, ideas, scenery, contracts and the seemingly insignificant other pieces that glue all of this together. It seemed that NOT manifesting the museum would be the craziest thing.

Museum Monday: Flowers of Romance Revisited

It’s almost 45 years ago that I was asked to rejoin PiL to work on what would become The Flowers Of Romance album. If PiL’s First Edition album in 1978 was a break from punk – utilizing Jah Wobble’s bass and Keith Levene's guitar. Then, with the departure of Wobble and pushing music concrete experimentation, and basically early industrial ideas to the front was its complete destruction (except of course it wasn’t). To be left alone by a strategic Lydon and an addicted guitarist was pure luxury...

This is the start of something very big.

The 90’s industrial kid that secretly lives within me was extremely excited to tour the undisclosed location of The Museum of Post Punk and Industrial Music. They are currently seeking founding members to support the growth of their collection of rare, personal, snot-covered, piss-stained, blood-soaked memorabilia of the explosive industrial scene of the 80’s and 90’s. If you grew up with Pigface, Ministry, Skinny Puppy, PiL, Nine inch Nails, KMFDM, Killing Joke, or Thrill Kill Cult… Join up. This is your history. If you don’t know these bands, sorry, I can’t explain. Martin Atkins, thank you for building this, and also for being so available to your fans. You were so gracious with your stories and your time. I always knew I lived to the beat of a different drum; turns out, they were mostly yours. I can’t wait to see this project grow.
