Museum Monday: Reflections from PPIM
A sad day today – the anniversary of the passing of Bill Rieflin was this weekend. We started Pigface together, and double drummed the shit out of Ministry on the Cage Tour in 1990. I also learned that Drostan John Madden, who I’d known since the age of 7 and eventually started Brian Brain with, had also passed after a long illness. The picture of him playing the scales makes me smile.
At times like these I am so fucking grateful for the museum. You might think it can get very, very sad in there – and of course there are moments where words stick in my throat – but overall it’s the opposite: the force field of creativity and all of the joy, support, and enthusiasm from visitors really makes a difference. Thank you so much for that.
More, on all of this later. I’m heading down to Bloomington-Normal to crash some classes today at ISU, then speak tomorrow on all of the ingredients that made the perfect storm for Chicago to erupt as the center for industrial music (free and open to the public!). I’m really enjoying solidifying my sometimes accidental research since starting the museum almost 4 years ago.
There are events and stuff for sale in the usual places, the re-released GTFOOB coffee is flying off of Dark Matter’s shelves!

Martin at Illinois State UniversityTuesday, March 25 @ 5PM CT I will be at speaking about a Blueprint For Chaos at 5pm on Tuesday 25th of March at Illinois State University’s University Galleries.
