Museum Events Through the Summer!

THIS WEEKEND AND MORE!

There are so many upcoming events at the Museum as we celebrate our 5th Anniversary!! This weekend, there are still some tickets available for a tour with Martin on Sunday. Stay tuned for more about our 5th Anniversary celebrations!

Next weekend we’re looking forward to the very special unveiling of custom-built Paolucci Speakers at the Museum with an Original Listening Event in conjunction with Illinois State University! Find yourself in the middle of the main Museum show room, listening to PPIM archives like you’ve never heard before! Museum archive material could include artists such as PiL, Skinny Puppy, NiN, and more! See the full details HERE.

We, of course, have regular (mis)Guided Tours with Martin live through weekends in June. If you’re in town for any number of festivals happening this summer (like Slideaway, Motoblot, Disastressfest), catch a tour while you’re around!

We’re welcoming Curse Mackey for an exclusive reading and signing event for his new book THE SOUND PHILOSOPHY: An Artist’s Survival Guide, and the following day he’ll be guest-(mis)Guiding tours for Evil Mothers Day!

Later in May, we’ll celebrate Trent Reznor’s birthday with a NiN Day – a tour and special listening session with Martin! In June, we’re looking forward to welcoming Matt Schultz and Tristan Rudat to the Museum or an exciting union between the Anti-Tank Guitar and PPIM.

Don’t forget there are often weekend (mis)Guided Tours with Martin, and if you’re looking to stay in town, check out the AirBnB!

There’s a lot going on around our 5th Anniversary and, we’re sure, more to come! You can find all upcoming event details below!

Midwest Music Expo (MmX) 2026
Decatur IL
Sat. May 2

We’re building the 9th edition of MMX (Midwest Music Expo). What started as a student-run music business conference here at Millikin has morphed into a vibrant day of arts and community, with our last event clocking nearly 30 bands on two stages. MMX paired the concert experience with local vendors, speakers, artist booths and more.

This year is different.

So many of the Oakwood storefronts are empty, signaling the needs of our community. Music Business teaches us to pivot and respond to the world around us, which is why we are choosing to focus this year’s efforts there.

Our plan is to have artists perform across Oakwood on May 2nd, and populate the streets and storefronts with pop ups in a real life ‘artists impression’ of what this creative district could be. We’ve done this before, but this has a lot of moving parts with a lot more at stake than a good gig or great merch sales.

This is real. We need help, and we need you!
