Museum Monday: I Love My Kids

MUSEUM MONDAY

February 17

I love my kids a lot.

This last week, the result of the Chicago Reader’s ‘best of’ was announced. Last year we were #1 Museum in Chicago – this year #3. In baseball, or any rank terms, that’s a drop of two places. I was a little disappointed until I texted in the family chat about it. Sidney came back to me – “Huh, dad! you were just behind two of the largest longest running established institutions in Chicago.” So, yeah, okay! I love my fucking kids! and I’m so proud that we were chosen as #3 fucking museum in Chicago !

Also this week, we saw our kind-of once-a-year visit from Trisha – founder #0001! It’s always good to see her and partner Joe. She gets to stay overnight here whenever she wants ! I still can’t believe that so many people are behind this project as founders –  it amazes me that she supported this almost 4 years ago when it didn’t even exist. How humbling is that ? How fueling?! I guess I hope that more crazy creative entrepreneurs can experience that faith, trust, belief and support when it’s really needed. Also, as we accumulate knowledge as well as artifacts – turns out this PiL shirt says ‘love song’ – who knew! Thanks Trisha and Joe – it’s always good to see you!

There are more exhibits going up and a few changes as we prepare for our first Free NiNDay – all three session sold out (even though its free!) but there is a Waitlist HERE. Look out for another one soon!

The store is full of amazing items now with the arrival of the Murder Inc Reissue double vinyl with booklet, piece of the original scenery from 1992, certificate of authenticity, a pic, and a pass – we certainly bit off a lot with this one but it came out great!

On-wards and upwards!

BE KIND!!
