Guitarist update & second date added to Extremities Thanksgiving weekend!

In the chaotic world of Killing Joke, nothing is / has been / can be simple, and the triumphant resurrection of the Extremities album on its 35th anniversary should be no different. An important shuffling of players revealed someone who, perhaps, should have been involved from the beginning and, in many ways, has been. Mark Gemini Thwaite is an iconic guitarist in our historic scene, whose resume includes being longtime guitarist with Peter Murphy, The Mission, and Tricky, along with tours with The Wonder Stuff and Gary Numan. But, perhaps most importantly, he was part of Mob Research with Paul Raven, and has worked with Big Paul Ferguson recently, too. That history translates into a respect for the intricate tones of Geordie and a genuine desire to honor that fire – in Marks words:

“My ties to the mighty KJ go back over 3 decades. My introduction to the band was the ‘Nighttime’ album back in ‘85 and I quickly became a massive fan. I ended up becoming friends with Paul Raven in the 80s & we recorded the debut Mob Research album together before he passed. Then later I collaborated with Big Paul Ferguson on his excellent solo albums, and most recently our work on the new Sevendials album… Paying homage to legendary guitarist Geordie and his incendiary playing with Martin & the crew will be my focus on these shows celebrating ‘Extremities’ 35 years on.. let’s have it!”

Joined by Randy Blythe (Lamb Of God), Justin Pearson (The Locust, Deaf Club), Tara Busch (I Speak Machine), Orville Kline (Pigface, Porn N Chicken), Dirk Flanigan (77 Luscious Babes), Martin Atkins (PiL, Killing Joke, Ministry, NiN, Pigface), Leyla Royale on cello, and of course Mark Gemini Thwaite (Peter Murphy, Mission) on guitar and more!

These shows will be across Thanksgiving at Reggie’s November 28th and 29th (second show just added), very limited Ultra VIP seats available now!

The shows will feature openers Ganser both nights, Bellhead Friday 28th, and Club Drugs Sat 29th, with access to dress rehearsals on Thanksgiving Day for VIP ticket holders. This will be a series to remember! The event will also feature some words from Steve Silver, who tour managed the band during some of this time, a slide show and talk from Martin Atkins, and a cash register fire ceremony in the alley where the scene from the Money Is Not Our God video was filmed in 1990 by HGUN Video!
