Many folks have been asking, and we heard ya – David J. in Conversation with Martin Atkins at the Museum of Post Punk and Industrial Music will be live streamed! We will be streaming the second seating starting at 9:30pm Central Time. Tickets for this virtual event are $10 – if you can’t swing it, please reach out!

If you missed getting tickets before both sold out, or if you’re not around the Chicago area, you can now tune in, too!

We’ll see you there!

WEEKEND TOURS + DRUM TRACKS AVAILABLE

This weekend, Martin will be hosting (mis)Guided Tours Sunday and Monday at 2pm – there are still a handful of tickets left for each session if you’re in town!

Tuesday, June 9th Martin will be recording custom drum tracks with studio engineers and interns! He has a handful to record, but will have enough time for 2 more tracks added to the list – so, if you missed out on the last round of auctions (where tracks where selling for $500), you can hop in and grab one from Big Cartel! Wether you want the hop in and grab one, or maybe you already have one and would like to add another – you can purchase it in the online store HERE!

*Please note, our team MUST receive your materials by Monday June 8, or risk waiting until the next round!

ADDITIONAL MENTIONS FROM MARTIN:

Chicago Ableton Workshop
Wed June 10, 7PM-11PM

Wednesday, June 10 Martin will be joining Orville Kline at Spybar for an Ableton workshop. You’ll be given the opportunity to learn new production techniques, acquire some DIY tips, song feedback, and giveaways – plus, the whole thing is free! We hope to see you there!

100 Club London, Celebrating 50th Punk Fest Anniversary
Fri and Sat September 18 + 19

The 100 Club of Soho London is celebrating 50 years since the original 100 Club Punk Festival with 1976: Celebrating 50 Years of Punk at the 100 Club – a 2-night celebration September 18 and 19. Night 1 will feature X Generation X, Stinky Toys (first appearance since 1977), and Terry Chimes (founding drummer of The Clash). Night 2 will include appearances from John McKay’s Reactor (exclusive banshees set), TV Smith & the Bored Teenagers (special Adverts 1977 set), and Marco Pirroni!

The following is a short background from the event organizers:

In 1976, a small Soho basement became the epicentre of a cultural earthquake. The 100 Club Punk Festival didn’t just showcase bands—it sparked a movement that reshaped music forever. Fifty years later, we return to the very same room where it began. On Friday 18th and Saturday 19th September, we host two extraordinary nights at the 100 Club celebrating the birth of punk—featuring artists who helped define the era, alongside very special guests who were there at the beginning.

ICYMI: MUSEUM MONDAY
From Martin:

I’ve been having some fun here and there! I’ve always screen-printed and I love to fuck around down in the basement. So, I tried the art that Tronnie Goss made for the Museum’s 5th Anniversary Shirt as a poster…the vibe of it made me want to grab some cans of spray paint – so I fucked around a bit, and really love the one-of-a-kind results of the drips and splatter!

So, for anyone who orders the 5th Anniversary shirt going forwards, we will fold up one of these posters as a freebie ‘thank you’ for your support!! If you LOVE IT and want one in a tube, then that’s a separate thing with a tube and separate shipping. For anyone who already ordered the shirt – those orders went out already, but don’t worry, we’ll be sending you a poster in a separate package!

Sometimes the BIG, BIG stuff gets swept aside in the daily hubbub of existence and important tasks in the moment. I’m pleased to be taking a little extra time to celebrate our fifth fucking birthday. None of this was on my bingo card 5 years ago. It was almost a pop-up experiment that just wouldn’t quit thanks to you, so much support, and contributions and visits. It all really means the world to us. So many times, one significant object would arrive and stop us in our tracks and keep us going for another few weeks. Visits from all over the world, joyful experiences, tears and significant conversations – every piece important, every conversation a piece of first person knowledge that goes into the next tour.

I’m starting to see just what a Museum can be – a collective receptacle of everyone’s love, experiences, delight and memories.

Plus, we have really great smelling soap, too!

Stay awesome.
