We had some jams during soundchecks – two drum kits working off each other is an interesting thing – kind of zen. I’m sure he would laugh at that. But, you can’t just PLAY! You have to think, allow other beats to have space and make the greater whole better. The day the Ministry tour ended, we were in Chicago Trax laying down the basis of GUB with Steve Albini. So, there are benefits to this museum thing. I get to sit for a while and think and remember and smile a bit. But its heavy AF too. Some King Crimson memorabilia (courtesy of their crew guy Biff) contains his onstage notes that a year ago were too painful to really deal with – perhaps I should try again today.
Pictured is a 2″ tape donated to the museum by Betty X that contains an unfinished unreleased track with me & Bill jamming, recorded by Fluffy and Dave Rave Ogilvie in 1989. I have no idea at all what we were doing – it was a Ministry session in 1989. It isn’t lost on me that I have been procrastinating on baking the tape and dumping the audio contents off to pro tools – too painful to contemplate really, but it does have to happen soon.
