Yeah Yeah Yeahs Visit the Museum + More!

What a terrific day yesterday!

It’s still surprising to me how still the museum makes me – reflective (of course, how could it not?)

The Yeah Yeah Yeah‘s (Brian, Imaad, me & Nick) stopped by yesterday evening for a few hours, and after looking around upstairs, we sat in the newly mopped studio and listened to some archived cassettes: the unreleased Vampire from the 1981 PiL Flowers sessions and the original version of 1981 Punched Above and Below the Waist. It made me wonder what Flowers would’ve sounded like with these two completed tracks on there.
My new favorite thing is showing people stuff! It’s like taking your kid to Disneyland! Perhaps it’s old and less amazing to you now, but seeing it through someone else’s enthusiastic eyes – that’s a good thing.
I’m spinning on Saturday evening in a Benefit for Sean Payne at Subterranean! There are lots of shows and events coming up in Chicago: Sisters Of Mercy, Love & Rockets, and The Cure dates coming up, and the 47th Anniversary of Chicago’s very own The Alley on the 11th!

There’s tons and tons of bad shit happening everywhere, please try not to add to it!

Much Love

Pre+ Post Concert Guided Tours!

Sisters of Mercy, Love and Rockets, and The Cure will be performing in Chicago the week of June 5-10, so we will be hosting guided tours at the museum! It’s been a cool thing in the past, so we’re doing it again!
These will be great pre/post-show hangs, not just a tour and objects to look at and music to listen to with Martin — but you get to hang with some like-minded fans who are going to the concert from different parts of the country.
We have NINE scheduled sessions across FIVE different days, so hopefully one of those fits your schedule! Tickets are $25, or free to Museum Founders with code FOUNDERSROCK. If you’re not yet a founder and would like to be, you can become one by purchasing the Founders Package Here, or by Donating an Item of Note Here to the Museum!
